New Delhi, Mar 10: An Air India flight from Mumbai to New York was forced to return to Mumbai on Monday morning following a bomb threat, sources confirmed.

The Boeing 777-300 ER, carrying 322 people, including 19 crew members, made a safe landing at 10:25 AM (local time). Security agencies immediately began mandatory checks on the aircraft.

"A potential security threat was detected mid-flight on AI119 operating Mumbai-New York (JFK) on March 10, 2025. In the interest of passenger safety, the flight was air-returned to Mumbai after following necessary protocols," Air India said in an official statement.

Sources revealed that a bomb threat note was discovered in one of the aircraft’s lavatories, prompting the emergency return.

Air India assured full cooperation with security agencies conducting the investigation. Meanwhile, passengers have been provided with hotel accommodation, meals, and necessary assistance. The flight has been rescheduled to depart at 5 AM on March 11.

Bomb threat in lavatory? And they believed?Something is fishy. When then threat will be given mostly on telephone or not?Someone must have hid something in WC so that others dont touch?Air India must have forgotten something in mumbai or some other problem was with plane itself so that they changed into terror? Why only with AIR iNDIA but not other planes? Can someone make some investigation ?
