Kaup: Scooter rider dies after being hit by unidentified vehicle on NH-66

Kaup, Mar 12: A scooter rider lost his life, and the pillion rider sustained serious injuries after an unidentified vehicle hit their scooter on National Highway 66 at Moolur Mangalpete, Kaup, late on the night of March 11.

The deceased has been identified as Pratheesh Prasad (21), a resident of Kaup. His co-rider, Nihal Wilson, suffered severe injuries in the accident.

According to a complaint filed by Ritesh Shetty, the accident occurred while the scooter was traveling from Kaup towards Padubidri when an unknown vehicle struck it, leading to a fatal crash.

Locals rushed both injured riders to a hospital, where doctors confirmed that Pratheesh had succumbed to his injuries.

Pratheesh Prasad was the son of senior photographer Bhaktaprasad and Usha Bhaktaprasad of Kaup.

A case has been registered at Kaup Police Station, and further investigation is underway.

    Karnataka has become a deaths knell for all motorists (2 or 4 wheeler vehicles). It has now ascended to the apex of no return .... a doomed haunted place. Only God can save the current situation.
