Six police officers in Bagalkot transferred after video of taking money from seer goes viral

Bagalkot, Mar 14: A video showing police officers in uniform bowing down to Siddanakolla Shivakumar Swamiji and accepting money has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread discussions. While police officers paying respects to a Swamiji in uniform is one matter, accepting money in uniform has drawn criticism.

Following the controversy, the police department has taken action by transferring six officers.

Bagalkot SP Amarnath Reddy confirmed that the officers were transferred on administrative grounds. They have been moved from Badami to different police stations.

The transferred officers are ASI DJ Shivapur, ASI GB Dalawai, constables Nagaraj Ankole, GB Angadi, Ramesh Ilager, and Ramesh Hullur.
