Hyderabad, Mar 15: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Friday staged statewide protests condemning the suspension of its MLA Jagdish Reddy from the Telangana Assembly for the entire Budget session.
Following a call by BRS working president K T Rama Rao, party cadres took to the streets, burning effigies of the Congress government and raising slogans against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

The main opposition party alleged that the Congress government was using suspension as a tool to stifle their voice in the assembly and prevent them from raising public issues. Jagdish Reddy was suspended on Thursday over his alleged unsavoury remarks against speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar during the debate on the Governor’s address.
Terming the suspension undemocratic, BRS leaders vowed to continue their agitation until it was revoked. They accused the Congress government of failing to fulfill its promises in the last 15 months and conspiring against the opposition to avoid being exposed.
"If the government tries to silence us in the assembly, we will take this fight to the people’s court," BRS leaders asserted.
Meanwhile, Rama Rao thanked party workers for their spirited protests and urged them to continue resisting what he called the government’s undemocratic actions.
"Unable to answer Jagdish Reddy’s questions, the Congress government ran away by suspending him. But they can’t escape from four crore people," he declared.
