New Delhi, Mar 15: Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul has seen it all in his decade-long international career—highs, lows, and constant evolution. The 32-year-old, who made his India debut in 2014, has seamlessly adapted to different roles, proving his versatility across all formats. From opening the innings to anchoring the middle order and finishing games, Rahul has consistently delivered for the team.
Having amassed 8,565 runs in international cricket, Rahul reflected on his journey with gratitude, acknowledging the privilege of representing India.

"It has been an incredible journey—what a privilege it is to represent my country and live my dream for so many years. Playing for India was my childhood aspiration, and I feel immensely fortunate to have this opportunity. The road has been full of challenges, with ups and downs that have shaped me as an athlete. But looking back, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Now, I am excited for the next 10 years of my career. I want to build on everything I have learned, apply that experience, and continue evolving. My focus is on improving every day, growing as a player, and winning more matches for my team," Rahul said on JioHotstar's Superstars.
When asked about his preferred batting position, Rahul emphasized his comfort in the top order but acknowledged the importance of adaptability in a team sport.
"I have grown up playing in the top order—from my first competitive match in Mangalore at the age of 11 to my early days in international cricket. It is the position I am most comfortable in and feels most natural to me. That said, cricket is a team sport, and you don’t always get to choose your role. Over the years, I have learned to embrace flexibility and give my best in whichever role I’m assigned," he said.
After playing a key role in India's title-winning campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy, Rahul is set to don the Delhi Capitals jersey in the upcoming IPL 2025 season, which begins on March 22.
