Spain recalls Unai Simon, hand debut to Raul Asencio for Nations League clash

Madrid, Mar 16: Spain national team coach Luis de la Fuente has recalled Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Unai Simon for the upcoming UEFA Nations League quarterfinals against the Netherlands. Simon, who has 46 international caps, returns after recovering from a wrist injury that sidelined him for the first four months of the season.

De la Fuente has named a strong 27-man squad, with seven FC Barcelona players, including young defender Pau Cubarsi and midfielder Marc Casado. Inigo Martinez also returns to the squad, while Real Madrid’s emerging defender Raul Asencio has received his first senior call-up after impressing since breaking into the team earlier this year.
