Udupi, Mar 17: The area near the municipal drinking water pump house in Eshwar Nagar, Manipal, has become a frequent accident zone, with incidents increasing, especially during weekends. In yet another mishap, a car met with an accident late on Saturday night.
An Udupi-registered car lost control at midnight and veered into a ditch near the pump house. Four passengers were inside the vehicle at the time of the accident. The Manipal police arrived at the scene during the night and assisted in retrieving the car.
Notably, just last Saturday, another car with a different registration number had fallen into the same spot. With recurring accidents at this location, residents have urged the concerned authorities to take immediate and appropriate measures to prevent further mishaps.
