Mangaluru, Mar 17: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for March 17, forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by rain over the coastal region for the next two days.

On Sunday, Dakshina Kannada experienced a hot and humid day, with brief morning cloud cover giving way to intense sunshine later.

In Mangaluru, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.2°C, which is 0.8°C below the usual average. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature rose to 25.9°C, marking an increase of 2.3°C above normal.

Residents have been advised to stay cautious as thunderstorms and rainfall are expected in the coming days.
