Mangaluru: St Aloysius College Higher Primary School bids farewell to class VII students

Mangaluru, Mar 17: The farewell ceremony for the class VII students of St Aloysius College Higher Primary School was held on March 13 in the school auditorium. The event was graced by the presence of the rector of St Aloysius Institutions, Fr Melvin Pinto SJ; the correspondent, Fr Johnson Pinto SJ; the headmistress, Jositta Noronha; the chief guest, Shweta K, lecturer at MAPS College; the guest of honour, Sonia D'Souza; and the PTA core committee member, Lavina.

The programme commenced with a solemn prayer, during which class VII students read verses from the Holy Scriptures and offered prayers. This was followed by the symbolic lighting of lamps by all the students, signifying the illumination of knowledge and wisdom and their commitment to spreading light to the world.

In her address, the chief guest Shweta K encouraged the students to grow into responsible individuals, likening their journey to that of a small seed sprouting into a tree that benefits society. Following this, the headmistress, Jositta Noronha, administered the farewell oath to the outgoing students.

The guest of honour, Sonia D'Souza awarded scholarship in memory of her son, the late Ashish D’Souza, the alumnus of the school to Ishani K and Stalson D’Souza the toppers of diocesan value education and catechism respectively.

The rector Fr Melvin Pinto SJ, in his address, emphasized the significance of sharing knowledge and using it to enlighten others. He urged the students to cherish and uphold the values instilled in them by their alma mater. The correspondent, Fr Johnson Pinto SJ, extended his best wishes for the bright future of the students.

The event also featured heartfelt performances by the students of classes IV, V and VI, who presented a farewell song and dance as a tribute to their seniors.

The ceremony concluded with the rendition of the school anthem, marking the end of a memorable occasion.
