Udupi: Seven arrested over playing cards, gambling; Rs 32,800 seized

Udupi, Mar 18: Seven individuals were arrested over playing cards and gambling, and Rs 32,800 was seized in Beedingudde, Udupi on March 16.

Puneeth Kumar B E, sub-inspector Udupi city police station, conducted a raid based on information received about a group of 5-6 individuals gathered at a public location near Diana Talkies Kukkikatte, Badagubettu village, in the Beedingudde Mahatma Gandhi Open Air Auditorium. 

The group was reportedly sitting on the ground, lighting candles, and playing a game of cards and gambling.

The accused are identified as Nagaraj, Yamunappa, Majunath, Amin Sab, Sidappa, Guru and Parashuram.

The police seized a total of Rs 32,800 in cash, cards, candles, and a matchbox used by the accused during the game.

A case has been registered at Udupi city police station.
