Kasargod, Jan 16: A happy reunion was short-lived when Antony (50), son of the late Joseph, from Gosad Kurumajalu near Badiyadka, who had come back to his family after 20 long years last month, breathed his last in a private hospital here on Saturday January 14. Antony had left home frustrated over the differences of opinion between him and his wife.
Antony, suffering from high blood pressure, was admitted into a hospital recently. Rani from Hosur in Tamil Nadu, who looked after Antony during the last 20 years, has decided to go back to her parents.

It may be recalled that Antony, who vaguely remembered his family roots and yearned to meet his family members, had been brought here by Rani here. Being unable to locate his home, he had been admitted to Snehalaya centre in Talapady. Later, his roots were identified, and his aged mother, Cecilia, had welcomed her estranged son back home. This happiness ended within a month, as Antony left for heavenly abode all of a sudden.
Antony, after leaving home, had started to do painting work in Hosur, during which period, he came across Rani from Hosur. As he developed emotional disturbances of late and started requesting Rani to take him back to his family, she had brought him here last month.
Antony lived with his children since the time he returned to his family home in Belinja but the reunion lasted less than a month. Rani too was welcomed into the family, but now she has decided to return to Hosur.
