Sharjah: Bearys Cultural Forum Annual Sports Meet a Gala Event

Sharjah, Jan 16: Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF), UAE conducted its Annual Sports Meet 2012 at the Wanderers Club Sharjah recently. The Beary community assembled from different parts of the United Arab Emirates and all of them participated wholeheartedly in large numbers as a symbol of unity.

The morning session included volley ball tournament and a cookery competition for ladies, wherein delicious Chinese dishes and snacks were displayed by the participants with wonderful presentation.

During the lunch hours, delicious Biryani was offered, sponsored by Dr Yusuf, Dr Kaup and M E Moolur. There was a musical concert by Karavali Music. The songs by M B Akbar were delighted the audience who expressed their appreciation with a big round of applause.

Siddique Beary, director of Bearys Group and the vice-president of Bearys Association, Bangalore was the special guest of honour. Noel D'Souza, former president of Karnataka Sanga Sharjah was the guest.

Various sports events were conducted in which everyone from young to old took part enthusiastically with gusto and spirit.

Dr B K Yusuf appluaded the work done by the Forum for the development of the Beary community. More than 400 Bearys attended the sports day.

Dr B K Yusuf, president, BCF said that such sports events foster a feeling of togetherness and provide a platform for talented persons to excel and perhaps get identified for sports events on the world stage. Dr Kaup announced the list of winners and M E Moolur proposed vote of thanks.

Imtiaz Ullah, Gafoor Maripalla, and Navin Anantali and Gopal were the referees for  kabbadi, football and volley ball, respectively.

Several members of the sports committee, managing committee and ladies wing joined hands to ensure the success of the event.
 
Dr B K Yusuf, president of BCF and all the members of the BCF thanked the chairman and members of the sports committee including the ladies wing members for the great task done during the event.

There was a raffle draw at the end of the event, for which the coupons were taken by Dr B K Yusuf and Siddique Beary. The first prize was a 32-inch LCD TV, which was sponsored by Abdul Razak Dewa and the second prize was a dinner set sponsored by the BCF.
