Mangaluru, Mar 20: A Karnataka flag featuring the image of late actor Puneeth Rajkumar was found discarded in a waste bin following an event at Townhall on March 17, sparking widespread outrage.
The flag, which holds deep emotional significance for many, was allegedly thrown away after a public program, leading to intense backlash from the people of Karnataka. The incident has not only been seen as disrespectful to Puneeth Rajkumar's legacy but has also raised concerns over the treatment of cultural symbols, fuelling public anger and demands for accountability.

March 17 is observed as 'Inspiration Day' in honour of Puneeth Rajkumar’s birthday. On this occasion, the Doddamane Appu Yuva Sene, Mangaluru, organized his 50th birth anniversary celebration at Townhall.
However, soon after the programme, heaps of bags, along with the Karnataka flag featuring Puneeth Rajkumar’s image, were found dumped in the waste bin, which many termed an insult to the late actor.
Reports suggest that even after three days, the waste remains uncleared, further adding to public frustration.
