Mangaluru, Mar 20: In a shocking incident, an engineering student was allegedly brutally assaulted by a PG (Paying Guest) owner and his associates in Mangaluru’s Kadri area after he left a negative review on Google.

The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Vikas from Kalaburagi. The incident occurred on March 17 around 10:30 pm at a boys' PG in Kadri.

Vikas, who had been staying at the PG for six months, had recently moved out after experiencing poor living conditions. He alleged that the food served was unhygienic, the premises were unclean, and the restrooms were in an extremely poor state. Expressing his dissatisfaction, he left a one-star rating and a critical comment on Google.

Following this, PG owner Santosh allegedly threatened Vikas and demanded that he delete the review. When Vikas refused, Santosh, along with four others, allegedly assaulted him and forced him to remove the review.

Vikas has filed a complaint at the Kadri police station, and an investigation is underway.
