Mangaluru, Mar 22: District Congress president Harish Kumar asserted that chief minister Siddaramaiah's recently presented Rs 4 lac crore budget is a landmark achievement, emphasizing development and economic strength.
Criticizing the opposition, he remarked, "The opposition has labelled it the 'Hallal Budget’. The BJP promotes slogans like 'Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas, Sab Ka Vishwas’, yet when it comes to implementation in the state, they oppose it. A budget is designed for the welfare of all communities—why the hatred towards one particular community?"

Addressing concerns about the state's guarantees potentially leading to bankruptcy, Kumar countered, "The BJP government has provided similar guarantees in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Haryana, which they proudly call 'Modi guarantees’."
Commenting on the SDPI’s protest against Congress regarding the Wakf Amendment Bill, he clarified, "The state government has no role in this bill. SDPI should protest against the BJP-led central government instead. SDPI functions as BJP’s 'B-team', as their very inception was influenced by the BJP. Instead of targeting Congress, they should direct their protests against the BJP. Congress itself demands the withdrawal of this bill, which is unconstitutional."
