Mumbai, Mar 23: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has dismissed a bus driver for watching a cricket match on his mobile phone while driving an e-Shivneri bus on the Mumbai-Pune route. The action was taken after a passenger recorded the incident on March 22 and shared the video with Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik.

Following the complaint, Sarnaik directed senior MSRTC officials to take strict measures. The driver, employed by a private operator, was dismissed, and the company was fined ?5,000 for endangering passenger safety.

Sarnaik emphasized the need for regular driver training and warned against reckless behavior. He also announced upcoming regulations to curb the use of mobile phones by drivers of taxis and auto-rickshaws, addressing concerns about safety violations.

    Yes.good decision.They should learn at last what is important ,a honest job or watching cricket and putting lives of passangers live.Their bosses too now and then just test their workers if any mal practices are present and then punish.
