Bantwal, Mar 24: Public anger erupted after a private bus was found operating with only one rear tyre on the left side between Vittal and Mudipu for two consecutive days. The concerned citizens stopped the bus and handed it over to the Vittal police.

The private bus, named 'Sara,' which plies between Vittal, Mudipu, and Mangaluru, was running with a missing tyre, causing unusual noises. Despite the apparent danger, the driver and conductor reportedly ignored the issue.

Observing this unsafe practice since March 22 afternoon, the public took action on March 23 noon at Salettur Pete, stopping the bus and accusing the staff of endangering passengers' lives. The bus was handed over to the Vittal police, and the Bantwal transport authorities were informed.
