Mangaluru: World Tuberculosis Day observed by Milagres College of Nursing

Mangaluru, Mar 26: Milagres College of Nursing, Hampankatta aim to raise awareness on tuberculosis at college auditorium on March 25. Lisha, first year BSc Nursing student unveiled the theme of the day “Yes! we can end TB: Commit, invest, deliver. Chief guest of the day Dr Khatihija Dilshad, District TB officer, highlighted the magnitude of the problem in India and the world, importance of observing world TB Day and various preventive measures.

Resource person of the day Dr Shrutha Shetty, NTEP officer, Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, educated the gathering regarding clinical features, treatment, complications and various preventive measures of TB.

As part of observation, quiz competition was organised for students. The prizes were distributed to the winners.

College principal Dr Diana Lobo and campus director Dr Michel Santhumayor graced the occasion. The programme was compered by Dion, first year BSc Nursing student .
