Puttur, Mar 27: In a shocking incident, a young man who fell from a moving train was found 15 hours later near Savanoor.

The incident occurred on March 25 when Uday Kumar, who was traveling from Kumta to Bengaluru via Mangaluru, accidentally fell from the train near Sunnaje, close to Savanoor, around 11 pm. The location where he fell is a deserted area with a slope, causing him to slide nearly 25 feet down to a drain where he remained lying injured.

Fellow passengers noticed him falling and alerted the railway master upon reaching the next station. However, since the exact location of the fall was unknown, search efforts could not be initiated immediately.

On March 26, while working near a pipeline well in Sunnaje, locals Dinesh Acharya, Santosh Alekkadi, and Pratap Parane heard faint cries coming from near a drain. They immediately informed social activist Sachin Savanoor, who rushed to the spot and discovered the injured youth. Upon inquiry, Uday Kumar revealed that he had been traveling from Kumta to Bengaluru.

Following police instructions, he was immediately shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru via ambulance. He has sustained severe injuries to his face and leg.
