Mangaluru: Aadya U of Mount Carmel felicitated for excellence in state-level Hindustani Tabla

Mangaluru, Mar 27: Karnataka government’s Dr Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University, Mysuru, hosted a prestigious felicitation ceremony on March 24 to honor top ranking students in special music examination for the academic year 2024-25. Held at the university auditorium, the event was graced by the chancellor of Karnataka government and celebrated young musicians dedicated to preserving India’s rich musical heritage.

Among the honorees was Aadya U, a Grade 6 student of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru who secured the second rank in Hindustani Taalavadya (Tabla, Junior grade). She received this honour amidst an audience of distinguished guests, faculty members, and fellow music enthusiasts.

Aadya is a disciple of Vidwan N Madhava Acharya, Udupi and the daughter of Udaya Kumar (chief manager, MRPL) and Archana.

Taking pride in Aadya’s achievement, Mount Carmel Central School has applauded her remarkable feat and wished her continued success in her musical journey.
