Bantwal, Mar 27: In an effort to expedite the construction of the Ajilamogaru-Kadeshwalya bridge, Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Mullai Muhilan visited Ajilamogaru along with former minister B Ramanath Rai. During the visit, they gathered information from Karnataka Road Development Corporation Limited (KRDCL) officials and contractors overseeing the project.
Officials pointed out that the presence of excess water in the Shambhoor dam has made it difficult to carry out the construction of bridge pillars. Responding to this, the deputy commissioner noted that since it is currently summer, releasing water immediately is not feasible. However, if water levels decrease at the Thumbay dam, excess water can be discharged downstream, allowing the work to proceed. He also suggested submitting a proposal to the government if additional funds are required.

Former minister Ramanath Rai urged the deputy commissioner to ensure necessary cooperation and directives to facilitate the swift progress of the project.
