Udupi BJP city unit to stage protest against state government on Mar 31

Udupi, Mar 29: Udupi BJP city unit will stage a protest against the state government under the leadership of MLA Yashpal Suvarna on March 31.

Dinesh Amin, president Udupi BJP city unit, addressing the media in the press meet held on March 29, said, “The protest will begin at 4 pm from Udupi district BJP office, passing through Kalsanka and ending at Rajangana parking area. The protest is expected to gather about 2000 party workers. Later a formal event will be held at Rajangana parking area. Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar and Beltangady MLA Harish Poonja will participate in the protest. The protest is organized against the state budget which failed to fulfill the request of residents.”

On the day a memorandum will be submitted to state government demand for grants for the development of government schools in the district, additional grants for construction of new district hospital and grants for mother child hospital, funds to be reserved in next budget for the development fisheries, establishment of Narayanaguru abhivrudhi nigama, grants for damage caused by natural calamities, establishment of agricultural college and facilitate government buses, construction of stadium, construction of Inspection Bungalow in Brahmavara Taluk and government medical college, grants for Udupi Paryaya 2026, for the development of Manipal lake, Kambala sport, and other.

Vice president Udupi district BJP, Kiran Kumar, general secretary Udupi city BJP Jagadesh Acharya, president Udupi Rural BJP Rajeev Kulal, and general secretary Udupi city BJP Rashmitha Balakrishna Shetty were present during the press conference.
