Udupi: Rs 3.5 lac worth chain snatched from pedestrian woman in Manipal

Udupi, Mar 30: In a shocking incident, Vasanthi (51), a resident of Parkala Post, Herga, was robbed near WGSHA College in Manipal on March 29.

Vasanthi, who works as an attender in the billing section of a private hospital in Manipal, was returning home after completing her duty at around 5:30 PM when the incident took place.
 
 
As she was walking past the rear side of WGSHA College, an unidentified individual approached her from behind and forcefully grabbed her neck. The assailant then snatched a gold chain weighing approximately 45 grams and valued at around Rs 3,50,000 before fleeing the scene.

Following the incident, a case has been registered at the Manipal police station.

    Rightly said ! In Western countries craze of wearing ornaments is not common I believe. Wereas, in India ladies carry some pristiege and pride to shine with glitter and ornaments contribute in some extent. Yes olden times it was safe as chain snatching jardly used to take place.

    aaam admi Bangalore,Police cant be everywhere .First of all women should have by now realised their costly chain keep at home and wear a duplicate one during their way to work or back.Noone wants to know whether a costly chain or duplicate she is wearing.Will be difficult to snatch the chain snatcher.Hope she gets back one day.
