Srinivas Institute of Technology shines at VTU 23rd inter-collegiate athletics meet

Mangaluru, Apr 1: The students of Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru, showcased exceptional talent and sportsmanship at the VTU 23rd inter-collegiate athletics meet, held at JNNCE, Shivamogga. The team proudly secured the 2nd runners-up trophy in the men’s category, marking a remarkable achievement for the institute.

Outstanding performances:

Akshay clinched the gold medal in the 10K marathon and a bronze medal in the 5K marathon.

Vineetha excelled with a gold medal in the triple jump and a bronze medal in the long jump.

Riktha bagged a bronze medal in both shot put and discus throw.

Rishith secured a gold medal in the long jump.

Gautham earned a silver medal in the javelin throw.

The 4x400 meter relay team, comprising Prajwal, Arjun, Akshay, and Rishab, clinched the bronze medal.

The achievements were celebrated by the institute’s leadership. Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology, extended heartfelt congratulations to all the medalists. The dedication of the physical directors, Supriya Adiga and Pranam Shetty, was also acknowledged for their exceptional guidance and support.

The president of Srinivas Group, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, and vice president Dr Srinivas Rao lauded the entire team for their outstanding performance and commended their hard work, perseverance, and sports spirit.
