Udupi: One arrested for gold chain snatching in Manipal

Udupi, Apr 3: Santhosh (29), a resident of Saralebettu, Manipal, has been arrested by Manipal police in connection with a gold chain snatching incident.

The incident occurred on March 29 when the complainant was returning home after work. Near a private college in Manipal, the accused allegedly followed her, grabbed her neck, and forcibly snatched a 45-gram gold chain. A complaint was subsequently filed at Manipal police station, and a case was registered.

A police team comprising inspector Devaraj T V, ASI Vivek, head constable Prasanna, and constables Manjunath and Raviraj apprehended the accused on April 3 with the assistance of a dog squad.

The stolen gold chain, valued at approximately Rs 3.5 lac, has been recovered. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody for further proceedings.

    Thank God ,her gold chain is back and hope in future she will keep at home and wear a artificial one which costs only few rupees.Person who stole should get real chain of steel.
