Udupi, Apr 3: District Health Society (DHS), Udupi signed an MoU with Edward & Cynthia Institute of Public Health (ECIPH) – a unit of CHD Group. The MoU will focus on improving the situation of maternal and child health in Udupi district with focus on ending the burden of malnutrition, reducing infant and child mortality and influencing key community-based intervention to reduce maternal and child morbidity and mortality.
The MoU formalizes the partnership to operationalize the vision in leveraging the expertise of both parties to achieve shared goals. The focus on the field will remain on building parental ownership towards dietary feeding habits, supportive supervision to Anganwadi workers and knowledge literacy on low-cost dietary intervention which boosts immunity levels and supports child welfare.

DHS and ECIPH will specifically look at improving quality control, monitoring and evaluation for all anganwadis. Further, improving maternal health and reducing the burden of maternal anemia, improving data management and supply chain and strengthening the overall maternal and child health space for the district will be focused on.
The MoU was signed by CEO, CHD Group, CEO, Zilla Panchayat and DHO, Udupi.
