Mangaluru, Apr 4: The housewarming ceremony of ‘Sundari Sugandi Nilaya’ was held at Vivekanagara, Ballalbagh, on Friday, April 4. The newly built home was constructed under the initiative of the Jerusalem Star Cricket Team Israel.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including District MP candidate R Padmaraj Poojary, young entrepreneur Pradeep B Salian, Sushma Raju Poojary (wife of Raju Poojary), Anthony Mascarenhas, Koraga District Committee president Sundara Belvai, Koraga Organisation member Balraj Kodikal, Sri Satya Saramani Daivastana Committee president Sunil Kumar, honorary president of Viveka Chintana Committee Bejai Prakash Salian, former MCC member Premnath Ballalbagh, Viveka Chintana Committee president Kiran Kumar, Raghuraj Kadri, and Kodialbail Ward Congress Committee president Deviprasad Kadri, among others.

The newly constructed house belongs to Sundari and Sugandi from the Koraga community, whose previous residence was in a dilapidated condition. Recognizing their plight, Raju Poojary, who has been working in Israel for over a decade and has remained actively involved in charitable activities, took the initiative to help. Instead of merely renovating the old structure, the team decided to build an entirely new house worth Rs 12 lac.

The responsibility for the project was entrusted to former corporator Prakash B Salian and entrepreneur Pradeep B Salian. Later, the Salian brothers, along with the Viveka Chintana Committee Bejai, Sathya Saramani Committee Ballalbagh, and other supporters, came together to turn this dream into a reality.

Raju Poojary’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes, both in Mangaluru and Israel, continues to inspire many. His latest endeavour through the Jerusalem Star Cricket Team Israel stands as a testament to the power of community support and compassion.
