Udupi: CM Inaugurates Kushala Shekhara Shetty Auditorium at Kalattoor

Udupi, Jan 18: Kushala Shekhara Shetty International Auditorium Complex, built at Kalattoor village near Kaup at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore, was inaugurated by chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda on Tuesday January 17.

Addressing the gathering thereafter, Gowda advised the people not to allow their concerns and thoughts get confined to their families and close circles alone.

“Everything we should do should be aimed at the larger interests of the society. Only then can we hope the people to imbibe social concerns and values in their minds,” he said. He also hailed Shekhar Shetty for dedicating whatever he has earned through the society, back to it.

On this occasion, district in-charge minister, Dr V S Acharya, inaugurated Paddakka Babu Shetty Hall, while MLA, Lalaji R Mendon, inaugurated Vatika Auditorium. Padmasri Dr B R Shetty, founder of New Medical Centre, Abu Dhabi, inaugurated Chandini Conference Hall. Nitte University chancellor, N Vinaya Hegde, inaugurated Roshni Mini Hall. Shantaram Shetty, vice chancellor of Nitte University, inaugurated Narayana Dining Hall. All the dignitaries extended best wishes for these ventures.

Lalaji R Mendon presided over the function. Vedamurty Anantapadmanabha Asranna of Kateel temple delivered benedictory address. Priest of Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Kalattoor,  Fr Henry Fernandes, and priest of Majoor Jumma Masjid, Abdul Rashik Sakhafi, blessed the premises.

Rajya Sabha member, Oscar Fernandes, his wife, Blossom Fernandes, former ministers, Amarnath K Shetty and Vasant V Salian, chairman of Coastal Development Authority, B Nagaraja Shetty, district deputy commissioner, Dr M T Reju, superintendent of police, Dr S Ravikumar, A J Shetty Mangalore, JDS district president, Deviprasad Shetty, and scores of other dignitaries attended the function.

NRI entrepreneur and recipient of Rajyotsava award, Shekhar B Shetty, who is the convener of Kalattoor Kushala Shekhara Shetty Charitable Trust, welcomed.
