Mangaluru, Apr 7: A fire broke out at a lodge in the city's port area on Saturday, causing property damage worth several lacs of rupees.

According to reports, an individual had rented a room on the second floor of the lodge. The room was locked and left vacant during the afternoon. Smoke was later noticed coming from the room in the evening.
