Raipur, Apr 7: A profoundly disturbing incident has come to light in the Mohan Nagar police station area of Durg town, Chhattisgarh, where a six-year-old girl was subjected to brutal abuse, including alleged rape and suspected electrocution.

The young girl had left her home on Sunday morning to attend a Kanya Bhoj, a traditional feast for girls organized on the auspicious occasion of 'Navratri' and 'Ramnavmi'. Tragically, her lifeless body was discovered in the early hours of Monday inside a car.

According to police reports, the child's hands were found in a rigid state, her face bore visible scratch marks, and there were traces of blood on her lips and nose. "Three suspects have been detained, and their interrogation is currently underway. The initial report indicates that there was sexual assault involved," a senior police officer informed.

The victim's family has reportedly made harrowing accusations, alleging brutal sexual assault, rape, and murder against the suspects. Further reports suggest the child was subjected to cigarette burns on her private parts and "possibly killed by electrocution."

This heinous crime has ignited widespread outrage among the local community, leading to violent protests characterized by vandalism and arson targeting the suspect's car and house, as well as road blockades.

"The situation is now under control," stated the police officer, adding that "A final post-mortem report will provide a clearer understanding of the gravity of this horrific crime."

The young victim, along with other children from the vicinity, had attended the 'Kanya Bhoj' feast at a nearby temple. When she failed to return home after several hours, her concerned family promptly alerted the police.

Despite an extensive search operation conducted throughout the day, the child remained missing until her body was tragically discovered in a car belonging to a 28-year-old man, which was parked near his residence.

Police transported her body to Durg District Hospital, where medical professionals confirmed her death, with preliminary findings indicating electrocution as the cause.

The child's grandmother reported witnessing the suspect loitering near the car earlier in the day. She later made the horrifying discovery of the child's body inside the locked vehicle, lying under the seat in a severely injured state with visible wounds across her small body. Disturbingly, parts of her skin appeared to have been removed.

The discovery of the child's body unleashed a wave of public fury. Enraged locals vandalized the suspect's car and gathered in large numbers, necessitating a significant police presence to restore order and maintain peace in the area.
