Mangaluru, Apr 9: Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Mullai Muhilan M P felicitated two students from the district who secured the first rank at the state level in the II PUC examinations.
Deepashree, a student of Canara Pre-University College who secured the first rank in the commerce stream, and Amoolya Kamath of Expert College, who topped the science stream, were honoured by the deputy commissioner at his office on April 8 after the announcement of results. zilla panchayat CEO Dr K Anand was also present on the occasion.

Later, the deputy commissioner interacted with the students, discussing their study methods, learning techniques, and dedication towards academics.
Present during the felicitation were Amoolya’s parents, Dr Dinesh Kamath and Dr Anuradha Kamath; Deepashree’s parents, Ashok S and Suma; deputy director of the department of pre-university education Sridhar H G; department officer Nithin Shetty; principal of Canara Pre-University College Latha Maheshwari; principal of Expert College Ramachandra Bhat; and others.
