New Delhi, Apr 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday underscored that “the mantra of performance” is the true catalyst behind India’s growth story, asserting that the nation’s rise on the global stage is no accident but the result of relentless effort, accountability, and a focus on outcomes.

Speaking at a national conclave on governance and development in New Delhi, PM Modi said, “The era of hollow slogans is over. Today, it is performance, not promises, that defines leadership. This is the energy that is propelling India forward.”

He highlighted a series of developmental milestones achieved in the past decade, including improved infrastructure, digital transformation, increased foreign investments, and robust welfare schemes reaching the grassroots.

“The world is watching a new India — confident, capable, and committed. The foundation of this transformation is the consistent delivery of results,” Modi said, adding that the government’s model has shifted from “policy paralysis to proactive governance.”

PM Modi credited India’s youth, entrepreneurs, scientists, farmers, and workers for their contributions, saying they embody the spirit of "nation first." He added that performance is not just about economic indicators, but also about touching lives, reducing inequality, and ensuring dignity for every citizen.

He called upon all stakeholders — from bureaucrats to industry leaders — to adopt a performance-first mindset, stating, “Our aim is not just to run schemes, but to deliver impactful change.”

As the country moves closer to major national milestones, including Viksit Bharat 2047, Modi reiterated that “governance rooted in performance” will continue to be the government’s guiding principle.
