UTKARSH 2025: AIMIT's annual sports day showcases unity, talent and triumph

Mangaluru, Apr 11: AIMIT's annual sports day, UTKARSH 2025, was held on April 9, at the Mangaluru campus, hosted by the AIMIT wellness centre in collaboration with students and staff. The event was a vibrant display of athletic talent, sportsmanship, and unity.

The day began with a ceremonial welcome, flag hoisting, and a spirited march-past by four student teams – Kritagya, Advaitha, Sahasi, and Agasthya. Dr Steevan D’Souza N, the MBA sports faculty coordinator, delivered a warm welcome and introduced the chief guest. Chief guest Pranavi P Uchil, HR admin at Brevera Technologies and a national-level athlete, inaugurated the event and highlighted the importance of dedication and teamwork in her address. Dr Fr Melwyn D’Cunha SJ, pro-vice chancellor of St Aloysius University, presided over the event and emphasized the value of sports in student life.











Students participated in a range of events including track races, relays, javelin, discus, shot put, tug of war, and team games like football, basketball, volleyball, and throwball. The event was efficiently coordinated by faculty and student teams from MBA and IT streams.

At the valedictory, Dr Fr Kiran Cotha SJ, director of AIMIT, awarded prizes and praised the collective effort. Team Kritagya was declared overall champions, with Team Sahasi as runners-up. Sujith PT (MBA) and Annette (MCA) were named best male and female achievers, respectively.

UTKARSH 2025 concluded on a high note, celebrating not just competition, but the enduring spirit of unity, discipline, and perseverance.
