Bangalore: New 'Role' - Pooja Gandhi Officially Joins JD(S)

Bangalore, Jan 18: Sandalwood star Pooja Gandhi of 'Mungaru Male' fame set her foot into politics by officially joining JD(S) here on Wednesday January 18. Pooja signed the membership papers and accepted the JD(S) shawl and the party flag.

Addressing media persons, Pooja said that she was inspired by JD(S) supremo Deve Gowda and his son JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy. She expressed gratitude for granting her JD(S) membership and expressed her willingness to serve the society in her new role.

"I have no greed for power. I will not contest in polls. I have been involved in social service by working for the betterment of AIDS victims. I have joined politics with the purpose of serving the people," said Pooja.

Both Deve Gowda and H D Kumaraswamy were absent on the occasion. JD(S) veteran leaders including women wing president Jyoti Reddy, JD(S) leader M C Nanaiah were present.
