Mangaluru, Apr 13: The faithful of Milagres Church, Mangaluru, prayerfully commemorated the Passion and suffering of Jesus Christ with great devotion on Passion Sunday.
The solemn Mass was celebrated by parish priest Fr Bonaventure Nazareth. After the Mass, a procession was held around the church premises, during which parishioners sang hymns and reflected on the Passion of the Lord.
In his homily, Fr Gerald Pinto emphasised the sufferings and Passion of Christ, urging the faithful to relate them to human suffering. He highlighted the importance of embracing hardships with submission to the will of God and the example set by the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The priests of Milagres Church — Fr Michael, Fr Uday and Fr Robin — were present on the occasion. Members of the Parish Pastoral Parishad organised and initiated the procession.
The observance marked the devout beginning of the Holy Week services at the church.
The parish has also arranged for the confessional ministry during the forenoon from Monday to Wednesday, along with a retreat scheduled in the afternoons.
