Mangalore: Argument Among Neighbours Ends in Senior Citizen's Murder

Mangalore, Jan 19: Narasimha (70), resident of Shaktinagar here, was allegedly killed by his neighbour on frivolous grounds on the night of Wednesday January 18.

Narasimha was the neighbour of Ganesh (30), an auto rickshaw driver by profession.

It is gathered that Narasimha’s wife had led her dog outside her compound at night to help it relieve itself. The spot where the dog was allowed to urinate happened to be close to Ganesh’s house. Ganesh’s wife objected to this, giving rise to verbal altercation between the two ladies.

Soon, Ganesh came to his wife's help, and began taking Narasimha’s wife to task. Narasimha too joined the quarrel, taking his wife’s side.

After exchange of unparliamentary words and choicest abuses, Ganesh, in a fit of rage, hit Narasimha's head with an iron rod, it is learnt. Narasimha collapsed on the spot, and was immediately rushed to the hospital. However, he was declared brought dead.

Ganesh has been arrested. A case in this connection was registered in rural police station at Kankanady. The police have begun investigation.

Lydia Lobo, Kadri one thing would like to say you have a very poor knowledge about RSS. So please dont comment with half knowledge.
Also regarding hoisting Pakistani recently it was done by Ramasene and for your kind information Ramasene is not a part of sangh parivar at all. They used to support congress once upon a time. Today they say that they are nuetral towards political parties, but they used to support congress once upon a time whereas they never supported BJP at any point of time. Also i know that you have given your opinion because this is an open forum and everyone has the right to give their views, but always dont your opinion on assumption and on communal basis when it is not required at all.

We have all seen our neighbours pets, stray animals and birds defecating and urinating in our front and back yards. Besides, in the yesteryears human urine and/or animal waste was the only fertilizer that was used for the all fruit growing and flowering vegetation.

So I feel that there must have been past enmity between the two feuding families or else I cannot imagine two friendly neighbours resort to killing when a dog urinates nearer to their house.

    Lydia Lobo, Kadri

Please refrain from making communal comment it seems to me that you are young, brash and immature. Govern yourself in light of the teachings of Christ and the Bible, and in particular the Sermon on the Mount. If you have been hurt in the past by an individual or group it is time to forgive and move on with your life.

    Sandesh Shetty,

Your RS/BD/SNS soldiers are not gold medal winners for the nation that they should be treated with respect or no dreadful feeling be harboured against them !

Who has the glory of hoisting an enemy nation's flag on Indian soil and what was their motive ?

No need to rub off dust on the shoulder upon mentioning a theft !
I just expressed my opinion but they have proved their adventures on quite many occasions !

Just coz the dog relieved himself before Ganesh's house, a precious human life is lost and two families have come into immense trouble!! It shows the amount of short temper and resentment built up in today's society! One should never dare hurl filthy abuses or raise hands on another person under any circumstances......

    DEAR SRIKANTH, ASHOK, LYDIA,
ASHOK IS NOT TOTALLY RIGHT AND LYDIA IS NOT TOTALLY WRONG.
HOW CAN ASHOK SAY THAT LYDIA'S COMMUNITY WILL HAVE MORE TROUBLE?
IN THIS TYPE OF CONFLICTS WAR IS NOT FOUGHT UNTIL THE END, IT ALWAYS ENDS HALF WAY.
BOTH PARTIES WILL SUFFER UNFATHOMABLE LOSSES,
MOST OF THE OFFENCES WILL BE FOCUSED ON INNOCENTS.
    NO ONE ULTIMATELY WINS.
BUT BITTER MEMORIES WILL REMAIN ONLY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE LOST DEAR AND NEAR ONES.
FOR OTHERS IN ANY (COMMUNITY)AWAY FROM THE PLACE OF TRAGEDY IT WILL BE BLOOD BOILING HOT NEWS INITIALLY & GRADUALLY A PART OF HISTORY WHICH IS RARELY REMEMBERED.
LYDIA, LET US NOT STRETCH TOO MUCH IN NEGATIVE THOUGHTS.
ASHOK, LET US NOT UNDERESTIMATE AND DOWNGRADE ANY SECTIONS OF OUR SOCIETY.
BOTH OF YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN.
LET US FOCUS ON REAL ISSUES THAT ARE UNDERMINING ALL OF US.
PLEASE LEARN TO WILLINGLY TOLERATE THE INTOLERABLE.
THEN THERE WILL BE PEACE WITHIN AND OUTSIDE.

Look who is accusing me to be stirring the tranquility !

Alright... this is history but not as old as even a decade :

    (1) If there was some other community's man in place of Mohan Kumar, had the matter ignored as it did considering how people had come on roads before finding out who the culprit was ?

    (2) If the women were hit in temples instead of churches would the reaction been same ?

Truth is bitter, when those who were hit do not forget but remind you about it every now and then.

If people can get down to kill each other over a dog's relieving spot, I must say what happened to humans is quite less - must be watchful of worse !

Infact Ashok is right in what he meant,
Lydia Lobo - It is not right to bring in community and create a ruckus of a issue which is not there at all.
Kindly be mature in your thoughts and work towards Harmony,
I do agree that there are anti-social elements in the society, but its our responsibility to not bring in negative thoughts and work for a better tomorrow.
Even as you said if the killing would have been from a different community, this issue would not have erupted as a huge issue, if people like you and me don't make it a big issue.

    DEAR VIVEK,
BELOW MENTIONED ARE 3 DEFINITIONS FOR CRUSADE AS OBTAINED FROM GOOGLE.
    "
    1. Any of the military expeditions undertaken by European Christians in the 11th, 12th, and 13th centuries to recover the Holy Land from the Muslims.
    2. A holy war undertaken with papal sanction.
    3. A vigorous concerted movement for a cause or against an abuse."

FIRST ONE IS IRRELEVANT AS YOU ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT EUROPEANS.
SECOND ONE IS NOT AT ALL EXISTENT. THERE IS NO CALL FROM POPE FOR ANYTHING LIKE THAT.
THIRD ONE IS A GENERAL TERM THAT APPLIES TO ALL HUMAN BEINGS IRRESPECTIVE OF CASTE OR CREED.

PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT IS THE REAL MEANING OF YOUR REQUIREMENT IN YHE COMMENT.

Generally, we Mangaloreans never think about others, if I am comfortable is enough. Actually this kind of incidences should be avoided from the beginning. Once a person gets angry he/she doesn't know what they say and what they do! General comments on Mangaloreans is we get angry easily. We are selfish people, be it in the bus or on the road. In the bus while traveling youngsters never give seats for ladies or older people. What i am experiencing here is people are not empathetic at all, it is like 'Me, myself and I'. Why did Narsimha's wife allowed the dog to urinate in front of Ganesh's house. If in case it was not deliberate such incident wouldn't happen. Narasimha's are old couple and they should be role model for youngsters by being little tolerent.
