Mangaluru, Apr 14: Lourdes Central School (LCS) commemorated Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14, a day that serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring fight for equality, dignity, and justice. The celebration was a testament to the significance of Dr B R Ambedkar’s legacy and his invaluable contributions to our nation’s progress.
A special assembly was conducted by the students of class 10, under the guidance of Henry Mascarenhas.
The principal, vice principals, staff, and students gathered to recite the Preamble to the Constitution, reflecting on the guiding principles of democracy. This solemn ceremony underscored the importance of upholding the values enshrined in our Constitution.















Advaith read out a thought-provoking passage highlighting the importance of cultivating one’s mind as the ultimate aim of human existence. Tanmay, Aishwarya, and Manvi shed light on Dr Ambedkar’s remarkable contributions, inspiring the audience with his vision for a just and equitable society.
The heads of the institute and Neema Lobo, programme in charge, paid floral tributes to Dr B R Ambedkar, honouring his memory and legacy.
In his address, principal, Fr Johnson L Sequeira emphasized the importance of imbibing the values of equality, dignity, and justice, as championed by Dr Ambedkar. He encouraged the Lourdite family to strive for a more inclusive and compassionate society.
Sanjana D’Silva, the compere, skilfully conducted the morning assembly, ensuring a smooth and meaningful celebration.
