Porbandar, Apr 14: In a major anti-narcotics operation, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Indian Coast Guard (ICG) jointly seized 300 kg of suspected methamphetamine valued at Rs 1,800 cr from the Arabian Sea near the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL), officials said on Monday.
The seizure was made during an overnight operation on April 12–13. On spotting the Coast Guard ship, smugglers aboard a suspect boat dumped the consignment into the sea and fled across the IMBL.

"Based on Gujarat ATS input, an ICG ship from Coast Guard Region (West) was diverted. Despite pitch darkness, the ship detected the suspect boat. While escaping, the smugglers dumped the drugs, which were later recovered by the Coast Guard," said an official release.
The contraband has been brought to Porbandar and handed over to the ATS for further investigation. Officials said this marks the 13th successful joint operation between ATS and ICG, reaffirming their coordinated efforts to curb maritime drug trafficking.
