Gurugram, Apr 15: In a move to address sanitation concerns in the city, Gurugram Municipal Corporation (MCG) Mayor Rajrani Malhotra, along with MCG Commissioner Ashok Kumar Garg and other officials, conducted a sanitation inspection tour across various city areas on Tuesday. The team visited multiple locations to review the garbage management process and issued directives to streamline the waste disposal system.

The inspection focused on secondary garbage collection points in areas like Beriwala Bagh, Jharsa, Carterpuri, and Khandsa, where officials assessed the garbage situation. Following the inspection, the Mayor directed the authorities to clear all accumulated garbage from these points within the next two days and transport the waste to the garbage disposal plant located at Bandhwari.

Mayor Rajrani Malhotra emphasized that improving cleanliness across the city, especially in markets, main roads, garbage-vulnerable points, and public places, is a priority for the administration. “The cleanliness of the city is our foremost concern. We urge every citizen to contribute by discarding waste only at designated spots, minimizing plastic usage, and segregating wet and dry waste,” she stated.

In a related move, last week, the MCG launched a crackdown against 33 vehicle owners and drivers, resulting in the filing of 29 FIRs and imposition of fines for dumping garbage and debris in public areas.

Additional commissioner Dr Balpreet Singh reiterated that the Sanitation Security Force (SSF) is actively monitoring the sanitation situation round-the-clock, seven days a week. He also informed that the SSF had recently raided a major plastic manufacturing factory, seizing over 7,300 kg of banned plastic and imposing a fine of Rs 7 lac for the violation.

The MCG administration continues its efforts to maintain a cleaner and healthier environment in Gurugram, urging residents to actively participate in these initiatives.
