Estoril, Apr 16: Portuguese football club Estoril Praia will wear a special fourth kit on April 19 during their match against SC Braga, paying tribute to Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna, on the 40th anniversary of his first-ever victory in the sport. The victory, which took place at the Estoril Circuit on April 21, 1985, marked the beginning of Senna's legendary career and earned him the nickname "Master of Rain" after dominating a wet race from start to finish.

The fourth kit, which will not be available for commercial sale, draws inspiration from Senna’s iconic helmet design during his debut race with the Lotus 97T. The jersey is primarily black, featuring gold details on the collar and sleeves, with the Estoril Praia emblem and sponsor logos embossed in the same dark shade. The standout feature of the kit is the green, yellow, and navy blue stripes across the front, mirroring Senna’s famous helmet, a symbol of his legacy.

Vinicius Zanocelo, the only Brazilian player in Estoril Praia's squad, expressed his pride in honoring the late driver, saying, “Ayrton is an idol for Brazil. It is an honor to pay tribute to him in this way. Senna brought joy to a nation, and this kit is beautiful.”

The kit also includes embroidery in gold on the bottom right corner, featuring the date of Senna’s victory and the silhouette of the Estoril circuit, alongside a tribute to Senna's iconic victory gesture.

Estoril Praia’s marketing director, Antonio Nobre, shared the emotional significance of the tribute, highlighting the legacy Senna left in Cascais, where the victory took place. “Ayrton Senna’s victory here in Estoril remains a cherished memory for all of Portugal and motorsport fans worldwide,” he said.

The special kit serves as a lasting reminder of one of F1's most memorable moments, celebrating Senna’s link to Estoril and his enduring influence on the world of sports.
