Summer Express surge: Special trains to coast, hills, and heartland unveiled

Bengaluru, Apr 17: In a significant move to manage the surge in passenger traffic during the summer vacation period, South Western Railway has announced the operation of several summer special trains. These include special services between SMVT (Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal) Bengaluru and Mangaluru, as well as a one-time express train service between SMVT Bengaluru and Kollam.

Additionally, special summer trains will run between SSS (Shree Siddharoodha Swamiji) Hubballi in Karnataka and Vatva near Ahmedabad, Gujarat. These special services are aimed at providing relief to holiday travellers and ensuring smoother connectivity across major routes in southern and western India.

SMVT Bengaluru – Mangaluru junction special train

To cater to the holiday rush, a special train with 20 coaches will operate between SMVT Bengaluru and Mangaluru Junction.
