Kasargod, Apr 19: Snehalaya De Addiction Centre, in collaboration with Janamaithri police station Manjeshwar and police officers’ association Kasargod district, organized a street play at Uppala and Hosangadi bus stand to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and promote a drug-free lifestyle. The program featured skits and mime shows performed by the Snehalaya team and MSW field work students from Mangalore University.
The event was attended by notable officials, including P Balakrishna Nair, ASP Kasargod district; Ajith Kumar, CI Hosadurg police station; Anoop, CI Manjeshwar; and Joseph Crasta, executive director of Snehalaya De Addiction Centre. The initiative aimed to educate the public, especially youth and parents, about the risks associated with substance abuse and encourage them to make informed choices.









During the programme, police officers highlighted the lack of facilities for victims of substance abuse for treatment in the Kasargod district and praised Snehalaya's 15-year-long service to the society. They commended Joseph Crasta and Snehalaya's mission, particularly their recently established well-equipped de-addiction centre for victims. The executive director of Snehalaya emphasized the dangers of drug abuse and the treatment options available at their centre.
