Panaji, Apr 20: In a move to enhance digital proficiency among government employees, the Goa government has announced that candidates applying for tech-based government jobs will now be required to possess a minimum six-month computer diploma.

According to a recent office memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel, the rule will come into effect from November 1. The directive aims to standardize and verify computer literacy among job aspirants during the direct recruitment process.

Officials said the decision is part of a broader effort to ensure that individuals joining computer-reliant roles in government departments are adequately equipped with essential digital skills from day one.
