Mangaluru, Apr 21: The Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, in collaboration with Infant Mary Church, Bajal, organised a summer camp titled ‘Maskam-Motiyam’ for children at the Infant Mary Church Hall in Bajal.
The camp was inaugurated by Luvie J Pinto, president of Mandd Sobhann (R), who lit the traditional lamp and addressed the gathering. He said that such programmes provide an opportunity for children and youth to understand and appreciate Konkani culture and language. He urged the Academy to continue conducting similar events in the future.













Academy president Joachim Stany Alvares presided over the inaugural function. Infant Mary Church parish priest Fr Dominic Vas was the chief guest. Other dignitaries present on the dais included Infant Mary Church pastoral council former vice president Prakash Saldanha, secretary Elizabeth Pereira, and Academy governing council member Naveen Lobo.
Joachim Stany Alvares welcomed the gathering, while Naveen Lobo delivered the vote of thanks. Sharrel Noronha compered the programme.
The event was organised as part of the Academy’s commitment to promoting Konkani language and culture among the younger generation.
