Kasargod: Migrant worker killed in clash, four detained

Kasargod, Apr 22: A clash among migrant workers led to the death of one individual at Anebagilu in Kasargod early Monday, April 21 morning. Police have taken four people into custody in connection with the incident.

The deceased has been identified as Sushant Roy (28), a native of West Bengal.

According to sources, six migrant workers had arrived in Kasargod about three months ago and were residing together in a shared quarters near Anebagilu. A quarrel reportedly broke out among them late on April 20 night, during which Sushant was fatally injured. Preliminary investigations suggest that he may have died due to physical assault.

Police reached the scene upon receiving information and rushed Sushant to a hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival. Officials stated that the exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem report is received.

Following the incident, the other five workers had fled the spot. Of them, four have been detained and are currently being interrogated. Two others are still absconding, police said.
