Vasco, Apr 25: In a heartfelt tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack, Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar led a solemn protest march on Saturday evening, denouncing the brutal act that claimed 28 innocent lives, many of them tourists.

A sea of grieving yet determined citizens joined the march, holding candles and placards, their faces etched with sorrow and resolve. As they marched through the streets of Vasco, loud chants echoed, condemning terrorism and raising slogans against Pakistan, reflecting the public’s collective anguish and demand for swift justice.

Addressing the gathering, Salkar said, “This barbaric act of terror in Pahalgam has shaken the soul of the nation. The pain of losing so many innocent lives is unbearable. Goa stands shoulder to shoulder with the rest of India in this time of mourning.”

Reaffirming his trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the Vasco legislator declared, “Terrorism, in any form, is unacceptable. We must remain firm in our fight against it. I have full faith that PM Modi will ensure those behind this ghastly attack are punished and Pakistan is given a clear and strong message.”

The emotionally charged march culminated at the Hutatma Smarak, where participants observed a minute of silence in memory of the deceased. Citizens and local leaders alike pledged continued support in the national effort to eliminate terrorism and maintain peace.

The attack, which occurred earlier this week near Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, has sparked widespread condemnation and protests across the country, uniting people in grief and resolve.
