Mangaluru, Apr 26: Sahyadri Institute and College of Nursing, Kulur, celebrated its Annual Sports Day- AURA-2k25 on April 25 with great enthusiasm and vibrant participation. The event was inaugurated by the chief guest, Sonith Mendon, a national-level athlete, in the presence of Uma Shetty (administrator), Prof Merlin Sheeba Jinto (principal), and Ronita Serra (sports coordinator).

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Jenitha Andrade, assistant lecturer, followed by the sports oath led by Stella, sports leader. In his motivational address, Sonith Mendon emphasized how sports help individuals accept both victory and defeat gracefully and cultivate teamwork, strength, and self-confidence.

Students participated actively in various athletic events. The individual championship trophy in the men’s category was bagged by Astin Saju, while Anjana Joy won the trophy in the women’s category.

Prof David Rakesh D’Souza delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the staff, students, and dignitaries for making the event a grand success.
