32-year-old man drowns at Dudhsagar waterfall in tragic incident

Vasco, Apr 26: In a tragic incident, a 32-year-old man from Shantinagar, Vasco, drowned at the popular Dudhsagar waterfall on Thursday. The victim, identified as Anand Belegal, had visited the site with three friends when the mishap occurred.

According to sources, Belegal was reported missing late Thursday evening, sparking concerns that he had drowned in the waters near the falls. His friends immediately alerted local residents and authorities, triggering a search operation.

The operation, involving police, fire services, forest officials, and other emergency responders, continued through the night. After hours of intense search efforts, Belegal’s body was recovered on Friday morning.

Authorities have confirmed that the body has been sent to the South Goa District Hospital in Margao for post-mortem examination. Further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the tragic incident.
