Mangaluru: KMC Hospital, Attavar achieves historic IMA AMR Smart Hospital certification

Mangaluru, Apr 30: KMC Hospital, Attavar, a premier healthcare institution under the Manipal Group, has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first medical college hospital in India to be certified as an IMA AMR Smart Hospital by the Indian Medical Association (IMA). This prestigious recognition highlights the hospital’s leadership in implementing advanced Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) stewardship practices aligned with international standards.

The certification, issued on April 25 by the IMA headquarters in New Delhi, is valid for two years and reinforces KMC Hospital’s dedication to promoting responsible antibiotic usage and strengthening patient safety initiatives.

Speaking on this proud occasion, Dr Chakrapani, medical superintendent of KMC Hospital Attavar said, "This is a landmark achievement for KMC Attavar.
