Chikmagalur, May 3: High-octane action is set to take over the coffee-scented hills of Karnataka as over 100 of India’s top rally drivers converge for the Chikkamagaluru Gravel Fest 2025 on May 3 and 4. Hosted at Survey 85 on Sangnipura Road in Kurvangi Grama, the event promises a weekend of dust, speed, and fierce competition.

Organised by the Motor Sports Club of Chikkamagaluru (MSCC) in collaboration with JK Tyre Motorsport, the Gravel Fest is more than just a standalone spectacle—it’s a pivotal qualifier for the Octane Pits FMSCI Indian National Autocross Championship (INAC) 2025, drawing elite talent from across the country.

This year’s edition boasts a record-breaking lineup, with participants battling across eight competitive classes on a demanding 2.2-kilometre all-gravel track. Among the highlights is the inclusion of a dedicated Women’s Class under the INAC2/INAC3 Open categories, with free entry to encourage greater female participation. Points will be awarded in line with the FIA Formula One system (25-18-15 for the top three).

Adding to the allure is the unprecedented prize pool—over Rs 7 lakh in total—making it the most lucrative INAC qualifying event to date. Prizes extend beyond drivers, rewarding pit crews as well, including a special award for the Best Tuner. The fastest overall driver will be crowned Gravel Fest King.

Behind the scenes, the event is promoted by Octane Pits and spearheaded by motorsport figure Lokesh Gowda. Sanctioned by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), the race will be conducted under the 2025 FIA International Sporting Code and FMSCI’s regulations.

In a push to elevate racing standards, this year's Gravel Fest provides amenities rivaling international motorsport events. Facilities include caravan support for teams, on-site rally tyre access, premium lodging, and full-service hospitality with meals, snacks, and refreshments available throughout the event.

The Chikkamagaluru Gravel Fest is one of seven qualifiers in the INAC circuit. To secure a place in the championship finals, drivers must compete in at least two qualifying rounds. Only the top five in each class will make it to the national showdown, where India’s best in autocross will go head-to-head for the ultimate title.
